If 'New comment in your group activity' is activated in Preferences to receive an email notification, then I thought I would get an email if someone else comments on a discussion that I created in a group?

Basically, I assumed that 'your group activity' means an activity YOU created in a group. Please can you explain what this notification preference means if it does not mean this?

Please can you also explain what is 'New Group Streams' - because this is another notification preferences option I do not understand, and there is no explanation in the documentation.

What I want is that I get an email if someone comments on a discussion that I myself created, but I do not want an email for all discussion replies in the group, as this will be a lot of emails. Therefore I have not enabled email notification for discussion replies, but I have for ' New comment in your group activity'. But I am not receiving notification of replies to my discussions.

New Comment on Your Group Activity - Notification when user receives new comment on his or her group activity (activity on stream).

New Group Streams - Notification for group streams (notification on every activity on the group stream)

As for now, only rule that is close enough to your need is "Discussion Replies", rule that will send emails/notifications only when reply is posted in discussion YOU take part.

Thank you for letting me know that that is what Discussion Replies is, as we thought that it meant Replies to all Discussions in a Group! I had searched the Jomsocial Documentation and there is no explanation of exactly what most of the notification preferences mean, and it is very hard to test every type of notification! They are not all obvious!

But I am still confused by some notifications - please can you confirm what these notification preferences mean:

'New Comment on Your Group Activity' - Please can you tell me exactly which activities are included in 'your Group Activity' that will trigger this email notification please?
e.g. Do you mean 'when user receives a comment on HIS OWN status update, photo, video or event within a Group?' Or do you mean 'a new comment on anyone's Activity in your groups (e.g. another person's comment on another person's status update'?) Is anything else included in 'Your Group Activity'?

Also, 'New Group Streams' please can you define exactly everything that is included in this? Do you mean ANY NEW Status, Event, photo or video posted within the Group by any Group member? Anything else?

Profile - New Comments on Stream Items - is this new comments on ANY stream item such as status, photo, video or event, or Comments on MY stream items?

Profile - New Replies to Stream Comment - is this ANY replies to ANY Stream Comment - or Replies to Comments that I myself made on the Activity Stream?
