Thumbnail quality/sizing on wall

Hi, I know this issue has been raise before but I haven't found a solution that works yet. I'm setting up a video sharing site, The thumbnails on the main wall are poor quality. The problem seems to be that they are very small images of 112 pixels by 84 pixels, but they are displayed much bigger in the template, so they look very fuzzy!

I have read some other threads about this issue but have not been able to resolve it yet. How to improve the quality of the thumbnails?

Hi Steve,

this issue because Jomsocial using fluid layout. fox fixing it please put this CSS:

#community-wrap .row-fluid .span4, #community-wrap .cVideo-Thumb, #community-wrap .cVideo-Thumb img {
    width: auto;
}

#community-wrap .row-fluid .span8 {
  width: 85.812%;
}

at the custom.css template. here the doc: www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/j...custom_stylesheet.md

if you don't know how to do it. please provide me FTP access detail.

Regards,
Albert

Thank you, But that does not improve the quality of the thumbnail image, it only makes it smaller. It also breaks the layout code.

The base thumbnail is still 112x84. The template needs to display it at about 300px wide. So how to get the bigger thumbnail that is not fuzzy?

Hi Steve,

you can changing thumbnails size at Jomsocial backend - Video Settings. seem that videos at activities stream from old data or before you upgrade the jomsocial version or before changing thumbnails size.
Because if now, you upload or linked any videos, the thumbnails will be 640 x 360.

Jomsocial cannot regenerate the thumbnail again, because can make slow performance.

Albert

Hi Albert, yes we upgraded from an earlier version of Jomsocial. Thanks for adding this important feature. Test seems to work so I think the issue is resolved. Thanks for your help!
