JomSocial Active AdAgency Expired Socialize Expired

I just spend hours troubleshooting a user with a specific use case that may be applicable to several users. I searched for this particular issue but couldn't find anything on that matter. So it may be a known issue, bug, defect or an expected behavior.

The user uses Facebook AND Jomsocial login from time to time. I believe they registred their account via Facebook.

The issue came that they weren't able to post any Youtube videos or Photos. When the user was trying to post a Youtube video and they tabbed into the "Say something about the video.." box, you can see the parser trying to load but nothing returns and the "Post" button doesn't appear.

Also when trying to post a Photo, the user is able to select a photo from the upload but then gets an error message which said "undefined error".

We tried Mac OS X 10.9.4 and Window machines as well as Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers with the same results.

I was able to post fine but it was just for this user, so I thought it may be the network. However, what I found that it was an issue with the user profile. I told the user to create a brand new profile and try to post videos and photos and then they were successful in doing so.

So this issue was user specific which was resolved when creating a brand new account. So the question I have is that when a user creates a profile using the Facebook Connect feature and then occasionally uses the Jomsocial login feature is there a conflict that occurs somewhere which could cause this behavior?

What happens when users log in with the combination of the two authentication methods?
1. User creates profile using FB connect then uses Jomsocial
2. User creates Jomsocial Profile but then decides to use FB Connect

how does one affect the other and if there is a conflict can it be resolved or will their profile just be corrupted and a new one needs to be created?

Hi, Danny.

You mean that user:

1. Registered to JomSocial via FB
2. Then Registered again in ordinary way... so user have TWO accounts: FB and ordinary account?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michael

No. I mean the user only has 1 account but uses both ways to login into the account.

1. User registers with FB and logs in the account
2. The next time user comes back and logs into the account not with FB but using the Jomsocial method

Thanks

Hi, Danny.

There should be no conflict as profile/account has the same ids.
but how user know password for that account?
When user registers via FB password is not taken from FB (as JomSocial can't access it) but uses a string...
I tried to login to account that was registered via FB with my FB pass and it fails... and no other password was provided.
So are you sure that account was created via FB? It should have FB watermark on profile...
