Hello,
On my site I have a menu link (Profile, User's current profile) that user can use to edit their profile.
If the access to this link is public, then everybody can see all my users profil.
However, if this link is set to "registered", then a visitor cannot see the users profil.
I would like that everybody can see the profile of my community users, but I dont want the menu link to be set to public because it is not nice.
Any idea?
Regards,
Christophe
Link "Mon profil' leads to JomSocial frontpage - not to edit profile page.
And yes, if you set it to "Registered" all JomSocial pages will be restrict to registered as they inherit menu item ID from that item.
So you need to have one menu item that leads to JomSocial frontpage and ANOTHER one that is alias menu item and links with "Edit Profile" page (alias of menu item from JomSocial toolbar menu).
Now guests will be able to view users profile but when clicking on link to edit profile, will receive notice that they need to register in order to view that page.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
