my client would like for comments to be automatically expanded, by default it seems they are hidden and you can only see 1 comment and text "Show all X comments" which when clicked will expand the conversation. I guess the issue here is that it may be easy miss a conversation. I looked but could not find where to apply this setting. Is there an option to have comments automatically expanded by default or configure how many comments other than 1 are shown by default.

it can but not quite nice solution. our stream by default only will load last comment in first time and 'show all comments' will using AJAX call. That because to dealing with big data and performance.

here the solution:
/components/com_community/templates/default/activities.index.php at the bottom of page. put this code:
