When I click a member's link on my site it brings me to a page with a link like this:
www.seethemodel.com/component/community/...bob-moffa?Itemid=222

Is there a way to shorten it to something like
www.seethemodel.com/profle/alohabobmoffa ?

Our printed magazine shows links to the people in it so we need a (hopefully) short link with name included, that we can print on the person's magazine page.

you must using 3rd party Joomla extentions for that. Because Jomsocial running under Joomla. The friendly URL by default will follow Joomla it self.

maybe you can try some 3rd party extentions. But I not guarantee 100% works. sometimes 3rd party make some issues with Jomsocial it self.
