Need help to link Jomsocial Profile and Joomla Group

Hi Guys,

Currently, You can select profile type when registering user by Jomsocial but Joomla User.
Could you please tell me is there any way(config, customization, plugin) to link Jomsocial profile to Joomla Group?
I want user inherit all privilege from Joomla Group.

P/S We used JSPT but It not suitable, they create a new access control layer over Jomsocial.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal,

Thanks for your suggestion.
This plugin seem not suitable. We only want link Jomsocial profile with Joomla group one by one.
And they will automatically register Joomla group when user register Jomsocial account.
User cannot change their Jomsocial profile type or Joomla Group.
I will be very appreciated if there is any solution or plugin support that for us.

You mean that you want to have new group each time new user registers?
And user is automatically assigned to that group.. and can;t change it...
I'm afraid that there is no extension to achieve that...

Hi Michal,

For example, Joomla have group "Brand" and Jomsocial have profile "Brand".
I want they link together.
When users register Jomsocial profile type is "Brand" they are also assigned to "Brand" Joomla group.
Is that possible to do it without customization.

Yes, I think it's possible. There is tutorial in Internet how to do it for Joomla 2.5:

But in this case, you'll need to modify JomSocial registration flow.
This will be a huge customizations... only professional developer could help you.
