Profile pages layout thrown off

Hello:

I am having three major issues with Jomsocial Profile pages. They are thrown off for some reason and I have uninstalled and re installed it and the problem persists, and SEF pages are not being generated although:

1. Jomsocial Profile page is thrown off and as a result the site theme is thrown off specifically on the profile page
2. Jomsocial is not generating SEF pages
3. Activity streams includes visible HTML code (on profile pages and community main page)

Please assist. I'm putting the details in the private area

Hi, Cheryl.

Most of your issues are caused by lost "connection" between menu items in JomSocial toolbar and JomSocial components.
It probably happened during upgrade - you removed JomSocial but not menu items. So they lost "connection" and display: "Component 'com_community' does not exist" notice.

1 & 2. Fix is easy:

1. Browse to JomSocial toolbar
2. Click menu item name in order to edit it
3. Don't change anything
4. Save.
5. Do it for all related JomSocial menu items.

3. This activities comes from com_easydiscuss and are not native JomSocial activities. Please contact with com_easydiscuss developers in order to solve that issue.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Michael thank you but now we're dealing with Joomla Menu bar. When I create a menu link over to Jomsocial the same thing happens with the SEF

...community?filter=apps&value=profile

Hi, Cheryl.

This is valid activity stream filter: community?filter=apps&value=profile
You set it to show only profile related activities. So filter query is added to URL. It can;t be fixed because it's not an issue.
Queries (search or filter) are always like that.
Robots can't perform searches so search/filter queries are not indexed.
You decide to change default setting to filter stream - filter query is created.

1. Re: Filter:
I did not create a filter. I simply created a JOOMLA MENU LINK to Jomsocial front page; I anticipated seeing www.braineyak.com/33/com

and not the following:
www.braineyak.com/33/com?filter=apps&value=profile

N.B. I kept testing and I realized that if I am not logged in, then I see www.braineyak.com/33/com . once I log in then I see: www.braineyak.com/33/com?filter=apps&value=profile

This is one of the issues I am trying to fix here via your support. This was happening with the Jomsocial Menubar links (the exact thing) and your fix worked. But now it is happening with Joomla Menu items & Jomsocial Frontpage link. If I create a Joomla Menu Link to ALL GROUPS it works fine - ditto for all videos and photos. So I have isolated the problem to the Jomsocial Frontpage link specifically.

2. Re: Filters elaborated
Another thing is when I go to the Jomocial frontpage, and I change the filter to ALL STREAMS (as opposed to Status Updates) the whole layout of the jomsocial fontpage is thrown off - in addition to my theme layout. Please assist. I think this is a Jomsocial issue here.

In the attached picture the right column is now pushed under the left (so it is way down on the bottom of the page which is not visible in the attached pic).

Hi, Cheryl.

1. As I said this is not and issue but you (or someone else) configured it that way.Look here: prntscr.com/3rpi4p
Change it to Show All and filter in URL is gone...

2. I'm sorry but I can't confirm that: prntscr.com/3rpiw8
To what browser it applies?
