When a user is logged out they can not see a post made by a visitor e.g. a like on a photo or a review etc but they (the guest) can see posts made by registered users.
When a user logs in they can see guest posts and registered user posts.
I want guest to be able to see visitor posts.
Is this a bug or config issue I have wrong? It never used to be this way since before my upgrade to the latest version. 3.2.0.4
You can see my site
here
Hi Stumpy_dan,
Actually those posts can be visible which is public when you are a visitor as guest (not registered user).
and seeing public page.
Let me know, Is it the answer you are asking or I am missing the point?
Thanks
Ashraf thanks for answering. Unfortunately exactly what you describe is also what I would expect but is what is not working. If a visitor is on the site and looking at a post (which is public) they can not see it. I recommend you use the log in details supplied and try looking at my homepage when logged in and not logged and you will see instantly what I mean.
Many thanks
Hi Stumpy_dan,
You are right. It is not working at your site.
I have replicated this at my local machine and it is work fine.
BTW, I have failed to access at admin panel of your site.
Can you correct the access credentials (may need htaccess info).
Thanks
Hi there. Log in credentials are updated now. NB Read the detail in the comments section at the end.
Hi stumpy_dan,
Sorry for the delay.
As I am seeing you have lots of member which tells that you have our product for long since.
It seem the upgrade is not taking place correctly.
Though I have upgrade the package with 3.2.0.5 but Can you tell us from which version you have upgraded jomsocial to 3.2.0.4?
Thanks
Ashraf,
Hi there. Thanks for getting back. If I remember correctly it was 3.2.03.
What do you recommend now?
I think you may have done an upgrade. either way same problem still remains plus in edition if you click any of the events or groups module links on the homepage or their main landing page they don't work. they just take you back to home.
Daniel
Hi, Dan.
Here is fix for your linking issue:
When you upgrading JomSocial menu items in JomSocial toolbar lost "connection" with component. Joomla! mark them as disabled and with notice: "Component 'com_community' does not exist". In order to fix it please follow this instruction:
- click on menu item in JomSocial menu in order to edit it
- when in edit mode don't change anything
- save
- menu item should be fixed
- do it for every JomSocial related menu items (if needed)
As for your post visibility issue: those post are created in jReviews and belong to visitor... that is to NONE of existing users. So there will be issues as in JomSocial all is based on user ID. And NONE user "visitor" has NOE ID. So no privacy rule can be set to it.
I advice to ask jReviews developers for advice as this post is created in their extension.
