Hi,

Ive read other posts about clearing the cache to solve problems with this, but its a tech support nightmare waiting to happen for us running websites.

At first, the date seemed to accept dates, but not changes.

Cleared the cache. Changed the birth year. Saved!

Oops, day of the week is still wrong. Changed the day of the week. Saving doesn't update the day of the week, even after clearing the cache again in Firefox. What is the solution to this?

Id much rather have a simple text entry that works rather than a fancy pop up that will confuse users.

Hi, Lynn.

Please provide us with working administrator credentials.
I can't login to your site.
Please, edit your first post and add credentials to corresponding fields.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Can't do that, sorry - its not an officially supported site, and the site is not entirely live yet either.

If you want to send me your email address I can set you up an account.

SIDENOTE: I know its really hard for you guys to support such highly technical products. I also sell dev tools. Developers are among the toughest customers to support. But it concerns me that the first response from most third party Joomla tool vendors is "give me access to sensitive website information". This site doesn't store much data yet, but others store significant customer data. I don't really have a good answer to this problem but its something you third party providers need to figure out. Okay, Ive said my peace ;-)

Hi Lynn,

We are happy to help you but as an example without site access we cant see what version of jomsocial / joomla you are using. what else you have installed on the site, any conflicts in real time that may be happening and all the other usual things we look for when we log into a site. If you are a developer you will have seen many times that even though outcome is the same the cause can often be different, depending on the environment is is installed / running on. Other posts with a similar issue may not be the same problem.

Without access we are more than happy to support you, but please be aware it may be a slow process, We will need the problem reported in the following format so we can replicate the issue on our test environments. Because all sites are different if we cant replicate the issue on our own sites then there will be nothing more we can do for you.

Please let us know
1. The Jommla version
2. The jomsocial version
3. The exact steps to replicate the issue
4. any screen shots to assist us to replicate the issue
5. a screen shot of the element inspector open when the fault happens.

If you are concerned about site access you could set up a test environment and load the site with test data. Once the issue is resolved, remove the site or block access to it. As a 3rd party provider we offer many alternatives to how we support our product. The fast way is with site access but the other ways also work fine as well. The choice is always yours

Have a great day
