Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Hello,
I set up Jomsocial without multiple profiles, but then when user was approved by Admin the user would not receive email confirmation.
OK. I set up multiple profiles, now admin gets an email with a link to approve.
If they approve user clicking on email link, user gets email, if they do it using back end (approve user) the user does not get email.
What am I doing wrong?
You doing nothing wrong - it just work that way.
User will never get notification when admin approves him/her on backend.
Only when admin clicks activation link it triggers an action and notification is sent.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Thanks Michal,
The problem I have then is that the email sent to approve them, does not contain enough information for me to approve users directly.
For instance, someone chooses a profile that is not the right one, (I have default, committee members, and a special group).
I would have to go to the backend of the site, review the user, and then go to the email to approve it?
Is there a plugin or something where the token is save in the profile so I can do it from the back end (triggering the acceptance email).
Thanks
This is rather Joomla! issue than JomSocials. This is how it was designed.
