JomSocial Expired

Hi all.
The problem I'm having (now) is that when my members register (I have the MemberMap plus plugin to show users on a map), it won's geolocate from town names.
Is there an update I need for it to include all UK towns? or can I somehow add Zip/Postcode to the equation somehow?
Cheers.
Dean
PS To be specific, the towns of Cardigan and Fishguard in west Wales are quite well known towns but users from there can't be geolocated.

Hi, Dean.

This issue is related with MemberMap plus plugin. Please contact with plugin developer.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michal.
Thanks for your response.
I already contacted the MemberMap Plus people, who say it's a JomSocial issue.

Quote - "Regarding the cities that are "not supported", it is very strange, however it is not JomSocial Member map that generates the coordinates, but JomSocial, you should ask their development team."

I have a Zip/Postcode field in my database, is it possible for the geolocator to read that? It's supposed to be a required element in the registration form as setup in the User - Profile plugin in Joomla, but I notice there are four User plugins enabled (User-Jomsocial User, User-Profile, User-Contact Creator and User-Joomla). Do you know if I should only have one or two of these enabled? I would test it out for myself, but I've got into hot water recently doing that sort of thing.

Oh, and I just noticed in System - Jomsocial Redirect (which is currently disabled) there's a setting 'Override com_user registration'. Would that be useful to enable?

Also, can you please tell me at what stage the geolocating is done? I'm sometimes testing by altering location details for a test user in Joomla backend, then updating the map page in front-end, but if the geolation is being done when the 'register' button is pressed, then I'm wasting my time .
Thanks
Dean

All I could do was get the 'Account Information' field in the user's profile to send to the postcode field I'd created in my database, but the field still reads 'City/Town'. Is there a way I can get it to show 'Postcode' instead, when users are registering?

This feature overrides links to default Joomla! registration wherever they appear. Yes, it's useful :)

As for now there are 4 fields that are integrate with Google maps (Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Integrations)

Street Field Code
City Field Code
State Field Code
Country Field Code

But city and country should be enough to mark position on map.

Location data are gathered by JomSocial but MemberMap plus plugin celect them from database to display on map. So if it doesn't display them correctly (even having full set of data from those 4 fields) then it's plugins fault.

Hi.
For a long while there wasn't the facility to reply on this thread. I don't know why, but the reply buttons just weren't available.
Anyway, It didn't help unfortunately. I had to set up extra fields and change a lot of files in the back end.
