Hi,

I have a user profile in my jomsocial site, which has & symbol in it and its mandatory to have it as its a brand name.

When this profile is visited in the browser, the title doesn't display this ampersand symbol properly. Its displays it as &

For example. If my profile name is "Bread & Butter", in the browser title its displayed as "Bread & Butter".

Kindly let me know how to rectify this.

Hi Siva,

This is happened by default from all webserver and domain rules.. you can try to another website and everything with & symbol will be replace with & on URL address.. also if you had some file with white space on the file name (like "Me and my family", when you upload (example : dropbox) and get the link will be "me%20and%20my%20family", as default URL link will change whitespace into "%20"..

We can't change this because this is default from webserver and rules from www i think :)

Thanks for your response. But I see facebook pages with & symbol like the below link to be working fine in the browser title.

sorry for misunderstood, i think you want URL link appears as & instead & :D
can you provide me FTP access ? i need to added new code to create page title show into & not & or you want to added it by your self ?

go to components / com_community / helpers / head.php.. open head.php with your favourite text editor and go to very bottom on this file (Line 155 ) and you will see :

$document->setTitle($title);

$document->setTitle(html_entity_decode($title));

And that works like a charm!
