I just edited and entered the login details.
So other components work well with the joomla global configuration. It is set to Berlin. The JomSocial configuration timezone setting does not have an effect of the inserted messages. I checked this with +2 and -2. I am inserting activity posts via database and currently have to set the dates to - 2 hours to match a correct timeline.
Hi, Guido.
Date that come along with activity post is lapsed so don't show date at all but time that passed from posting. When switched to date it show only day month and year.
So could you more specific and point me out where is time zone issue in post box? Does it apply to event added via post box?
I know, but the dates are wrong. Lets say we have April 29th and 10:30 in Germany (UTC+2 while its summer in Germany), JomSocial ads the date "2014-04-29 08:30:00" to database. On events, on activity stream, on just everything. Joomla is set to UTC+2, but JomSocial uses UTC+0. It's clearly visible when adding a new event on stream and in the database.
Please use new login details from post one. I moved a copy.
Hi, Guido.
I have word from developer:
"Server time must always be UTC or 0 regardles of the current location.
Joomla setting should be set to desired timezone"
The server time is correct and Joomla setting, too. This works in every other component like K2, Kunena and so on. Not in JomSocial activity stream. Please have a look at your product, because this is not a "customer issue", it is a bug.
You can easily verify this: Install JomSocial, set a timezone e.g. UTC +2, post in activity stream and check your database time value. The value is WRONG.
Hi, Guido.
Ok, I see your point. You talk about time that is inserted in db in "created" column.
It seems to be a bug but I need to talk with product owner...
Hi, Guido.
I apologize for late response. Please try this:
set the server time to UTC and Joomla timezone to Berlin, and that should work.
