HI all,

I am running a rather intimate community, a dating site. So.. i wish to have all features to be hidden for guests. I have set all items in the backend (configuration -> privacy) to members. And have disabled the search option to guests, however, i have the group/event module on my frontpage and wish to show it to guests so that my page does not show empty cause i want to hide everything for guests. So....

how can i restrict the acces only with showing the frontpage modules, but that if a member clicks on it, it shows that user have to become a member of the website?

Hi, LaFemme

You have following modules on your site (visible for guests):

- who's on line (guest can't view profiles - OK)
- events (guest can view events and it contents - BAD)
- videos (as I see there only 3 videos displayed... for some reason on front end I cant see privacy settings for this videos - BAD)
- groups (guest can see groups and it content - BAD)
- members (guest can't see members profiles or content - OK, but can see members list OK or BAD?)

All links from JomSocial toolbar have the same menu item ID = 101 that is your home page so no ACL settings from Joomla will be applied (they don't have own menu item id).

So please confirm that all content that I marked BAD is displayed for guest and it shouldn't be... also with sub modules (like those in groups).

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi.. thank you for the time... and sorry for my late respons. Thought i have replied thru the quick reply, but for some reason that function here works not for me well on this site, since i now have that experience for 4 times.

Anyway... have set the modules.... but what i find is that if a user/guest knows the link then the guest would still be able to view the events/photo's. Basicly every part of the website. Howcome and how can i prevent this?

Hi, lafemme.

I have some idea... well, two of them. But when I tried to test one I was kicked out from your site and get 403 (Access forbidden) and thus I can't disable test menu I created...

Could you check it?

What did you do and what have you done? Cause i can acces the admin.

I however see that there is indeed an extra menu, but i see it in The front and not The Back. How can i disable it?

Could you check logging in again? Cause sometimes it just gives that error, but after 1 minute you can login again.

Thanks

Hi, lafemme.

Ok, I'm in - removed additional menu. And I manage to solve your issue :D
I created hidden menu and added there main links to JomSocial pages with restriction to registered only.
Now no JomSocial site can be visited by guests :D

Please check if it works for you.
