Some users are unable to reply to a post on the stream

A user came to me and said that he can't comment to any of the posting on the stream of www.modoartist.info . I checked his account settings and even with a new user he is not able to comment to anything. He is able to post and he can reply to the admins posts without a problem.
This is all a bit strange and I have asked others about this, but there is no feedback right now.

Any ideas?

It looks like it is for all users. Since the one I granted you access to isn't able to comment on any given topic.

Check my data for FTP.

Hi Tom,

I see, actually for commenting system we only allowed friends / admin can comment it, so if you wanna do comment to the stream, make sure that user is your friend as well.

thank you

Thank you for your answer, but this isn't really helping. Isn't there a way to allow everyone to comment to whatever post?

Thanks!

Hi Tom,

you need hack 2 lines in 2 file to achive this.

1. open this file components/com_community/templates/default/activities.actions.php, find this :

$allowComment = $allowComment && ($my->authorise('community.add', 'activities.comment.' . $this->act->actor, $obj) );

change to :
$allowComment = true;

2. Open this file components/com_community/controllers/system.php, find this :
$allowComment = false;

change to :
$allowComment = true;

BTW wouldn't it make sense to have this as an option in the back end? Depending on the way you are setting up a community it makes sense that each and everybody can post something no matter if they are friends or not. I would like to see this as an option in an upcoming release.
