Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
We want to dissable or change some system message, but we do not know where to find them. For example the alert we get when uploading an avatar in account register process, uploading works but we still get the alert message. We want to disable specifically this message.
We also use a modalbox for our user login, but when a user filled in incorrect data the modalbox is closed and we get a message on the homepage. What is the easiest way to check the user credentials still in the form, possibly even without using the submit button first? Because there're possibilities to do this, it is also in the register-process to check for a username.
2. For security reasons I don't recommend checking if in login for are entered valid data. Such feature will make breaking in much easier as hacker don't need to check if values are valid... Most systems work that way - user need to enter values, submit them and the they are validated.

- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job

Is there a way to give the user some feedback after the login while the modalbox is still open? for example automaticle opening the modalbox when the login failed error is given? Where can we find the copy failed message in the files? Or what is the problem what triggers it?
I don't know what login module you're using - your site is unavailable for me.
But you could always ask module developer about it... or if he/she could made any customization for you.
JomSocial doesn't have modal box login, so I can't help you with this...
