When adding an avatar for profil, event or group, i don't understand the functionnalty of resizing.
I created a square image 360x360 that i upload, then it loads it in the popup window and we have the choice to reposition it and to resize it.
But why the resize area is lowest than the square image ? I can't select the entire image for a proportional image (i.e : 360x360). If i save, it will crop the image to the size area. If I cancel the avatar image has it's real proportion size (360x360) has i want.
I can understand for image that is not proportional but not for a square image.

This's a minor bug which will be fixed in our upcoming release JomSocial 3.2
well from jomsocail v2.8 it was the same. You could try to solve it before.

I'm testing jomsocial v3.2.0.3 and it's always the same with avatar resize problem.
When we have square image we can't resize to the full size, anchors stay at the middle as i said in previous messages of this topic.
I've got a lot of users that don't understand this feature !!!

It shouldn't be resizble to the full size, it's made by design...However you should be able to move the square.
hello, i mean by resizable the avaibility to move squares until the full picture in case it's proportional picture i.e : 200x200
In my case little squares around the picture doessn't move until the bottom-right of the picture to select the entire picture like picture added on answer 2 months 1 day ago #71825

Well first of all you're using an outdated version of JomSocial, so I strongly suggest to upgrade to the latest version. Secondly you're using a lot of custom extensions, with esoteric javascript functions which may brake this functionality. Could you check if this problem will also occurs for instance on our community page?

If you read well i said I'm testing v3.2.0.3. I can't do more !
Finally I've seen it now works fine but I've seen errors in Chrome and that's your extension not others.
And as i already said that's the pwoer of joomla to be able to add other extensions IF DEVELOPERS RESPECT good coding like JQueryEasy prevent it.
The day that Jomsocial will respect jquery library coding and not having its own jquery1.8 library you will be able to say that's it's due to other extensions because 90% of problem I've got on my website is with jomsocial and as you said i've got a lot !
And as you said there's 2 months 3 days ago #71873, it was a minor bug ???
You can see the errors with attached file that I've tested on my test server.
There are errors but it seems to resize fine
And actually I can't upgrade to v3.2 on my production server because Tigra told me you always have bugs.
So if you can find a solution because my users don't understand and think my website is buggy !!!

Unfortunately I can't agree with you, I of course understand that the power of Joomla is it's extensions, but adding a lot of extensions on one site with really massive php/javascript functions will always brake site, no matter which extension you'll install next. I can also guarantee to you, that if you'll uninstall JomSocial there stil will be a lot of issues on your site, not caused by our component but by compatibility problems betweem other extensions. Also if Tigra team thinks our extension is buggy, then I think you should ask them to describe problems within our code, and we'll be more then happy to fix them as soon it's possible, without any bug reports we simply can't do much. And the most important, we need access to your test server so we could look into this issue, since I don't have such errors on my site, or even on our community, so we need any access to your production site to debug the problem properly.

As i already mentionned, before using Jomsocial (since more than 2 years) I was customer of Community Builder and they never told me it's due to other extensions or like Techjoomla that somtimes it makes me think they now better your extension than you ... These 2 extensions are cheaper than your extension and they don't care if we have paid during the good period, they're goal is to have their extensions working fine !!! That's why i never placed good review on JED about Joomsocial !!!!
For example it takes more than 3 years users like me ask you to add a parser link like that link :

Just for information, i can't add new features ideas on your uservoice website !!! It's not mine with my DOZEN extensions it's yours ! A lot of time i can't add a simple attachment file, i have to use an external website to add a picture and it's like my website with random problems like :http://ge.tt/
PLEASE CAN YOU EXPLAIN ME WHY I'VE SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR EXTENSION AND IF I USE A LOT OF EXTENSIONS I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THEM ????????

Well, this issue as even Tigra team said, was already fixed and it's not appearing in our code anymore.
Fetching content from url in postbox was added in JomSocial 3.2, this's why I also suggest to upgrade JomSocial to the latest version. I also explained why you've so many problems on your site, they're caused by uncompatibilities between extensions. Bassicaly I suggest to disable all extensions exept of JomSocial, and ich such way you should able to track which extension is causing problems with our component. Also in such way we could look into it, and check if it's caused by our code and if yes, then we could fix it so those problem will not appear anymore on your site. And about the access, this forum is not our component, it's simply Kunena forum with some modifications, so you can simply edit your first post here and add all necessary details there.
Also please understand we're not here to argue about anything, I'm here only to help you on everysingle problem you've this's why I strongly recomend to upgrade your JomSocial to the latest version, and then if those javascript problems will still persists, then it's more then advised to disable all extensionss, exept of JomSocial and couple of system plugins, and in such way you'll track down those problematic plugins.

Well I would like to upgrade to last version of jomsocial v3.2.0.5 but I add that post :

and it makes more than 1 week i can't find a solution for french file translation. And seeing that every week (approximately...) you create a new version makes me think you have bugs with that v3.2.
so as i already said i don't understand why I've so many problems with jomsocial and it really feds me up to DEBUG your extension.
Sure using ONLY your extension with joomla works fine but other PROFESSIONNAL developpers find a way to resolve compatibility problems with other extensions and that's why i try to take in your mind !!!!!
JOMSOCIAL is just another extension like others and as i told you, the day you will respect jquery best practice development you will be able to ask me to DEBUG my website using your extension

And to explain you what's really feds me up :
- It takes 2 years me and hundred users ask you to remove two email registration sent to users that makes users think they are registered but they aren't (due to spam activator from gmail...) and everytime i upgrade jomsocial I have to comment a simple line in order to avoid it ! Is it complacated to avoid that for you ? Or at least to let in backend to choose the registration way !!!!!!
- It also makes 2 years i ask like hundreds of users to have a link parser like Facebook, Google plus ... I gave you some code found but other developpers ...
And so on ... like profile types we can't use then to search profle types ...
All of these thigs are just logical features when adding a feature but until now for what i see since than 2 years, jomsocial upgrades are just BUG upgrades and display features but not core features !!!!
Just see what Tigra do do makes our jomsocial network makes easier to our users !!!! Not every user a computer scientists ....
At lesat when i see bugs on your website (last week message : MySQL problem), can't add some new topic on uservoice, button at the button of your support forum, can't add attachment sometimes ....
It's not MY website BUT YOUR'S !!!!!
