I have two basic profiles which represent two different kinds of members:

(a) users
(b) service providers

Users must enter a physical address (e.g. city and state)

Service provider must also, including street address.

A use case:

I have logged in as an "User".
I want to be able to see a "Members List" of "Service Providers" that is automatically filtered based on my physical address.

Ideally, this would include the capability to expand that selection to cities nearby.

Can this be done "out of the box" with JomSocial? I only see the ability to list all members--without the ability to define what fields are listed on the list/directory.

If this cannot be done "out of the box" can you recommend an extension that will support this?

Hi, Amber.

If any of your custom profiles has a specific file you can filter all users that has any value in that field. You can do this using Advanced search feature. Just set criteria some field (specific for certain profile type) Not equal 0. This will generate URL search query. Just copy it and create in Joomla! new menu item -> external link and past generated URL. Now you'll have a link to list with users that have specific field filled.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi Michal,

Thanks for that info--actually, my other post is that my advanced search isn't working. :)

Regardless, I plan on having literally hundreds and hundreds of towns--I don't think manually created a menu item is realistic (though I do appreciate you providing that pointer--could come in handy). Are you saying there is no way to dynamically create a relationship between one member in one group and a set of members in another? :(

Thanks in advance!

Hi, Amber.

Hmmm... then you could give a try to this extension: extensions.joomla.org/extensions/extensi...ial-extensions/12754 I saw a lot of users creating members list with it.
