hi there
i have my membership settings in joomla set as "self"
yet jomsocial is still holding the members as "pending" meaning i have to manually approve them. its not happening on facebook connect members, but on site registered members only. even after they have clicked the link in theor approval email, the jomsocial membership is pending and not auto completing.

could you also please post any fix's here, as its happening on several of my installs.

I cant confirm that. Minute ago I registered as a new user in your Community.
Everything went smooth and after triggering activation link I was successfully activated and enabled both in Joomla! and in JomSocial.

Maybe copying and pasting link is a problem? Then I added a override - now your new members may only click on activation link and they should be activated.

Please confirm if it works for you.

no my subscription is valid - (I have a develppers subscription which allows multiple sites)
i only just repaid a week or so ago. you best check the accounts system.

Post a ticket that you just renewed your subscription a week ago but no subscription badges are displayed along your avatar on the forum.

wow - after an entire day waiting - i had to go onto facebook of all places to get support.

after much mucking around - the domain has been changed to guidetogay.com - which is the domain having the same issue.... i really could have fixed this myself if you guys had provided the fix from the other website which had exactly the same issue!

anyhow- can you check out the issue for guidetogay.com - and post or PM the way to fix it when you have fixed the error in jomsocial.

My account was enabled automatically...

hi

i have had direct support requests from members saying they have clicked on the url - activated their account but could not login.
I have then gone to the jomsocial backend, and their profile is in hte "notifications" as a pending./.. meaning that members arnt being auto approved.
I have noticed however, that it "seems" to be happening with free email services like hotmail, live, gmail, yahoo etc... i havnt had the issue with a direct domain name. could that be a problem?
You would think however, if a user has clicked the link in the approval email - it should work.

I also use free email service and I registered on email alias. So it's probably irrelevant.
I just suspect that some users tried to click on the link... and it is plain text, so will not activate users account.

I created a language override to solve that. Now link is clickable - will see if that works. I tested it and it works 100% for me.
Please confirm if it also works for you.
