JomSocial Expired

Hello

Which file do I need to edit in order to hide the submenu items for friends? I want to comment out 'Request Sent', 'Pending my approval' and 'View all'. I have done this before with 'Invite Friends' but I cannot seem to remember which file I edited to do this.

Please can you point me in the right direction?

Hi John.

You'll need to edit file root/components/com_community/viewvs/friends/view.html.php

Hi, John.

If you wan to remove it from horizontal menu (under JomSocial toolbar) then edit this file:

ROOT/components/com_community/views/friends/view.html.php in line 41.

Core file hack alert! This is a core file, any customization will be lost due next JomSocial upgrade. We strongly recomend to make a safe copy before any changes (and also a copy of customized file).

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hello

I tried that and it did not work. If you go to my site in the backend and use the component extplorer as FTP access which is what I use, you will see that I have commented out the items 'Request Sent' and 'Pending my approval'. However this has no effect on the front end if you go to either:

Directory > Advanced search
Directory > Search

You will still see the submenu items appear if you access Jomsocial search via this navigation. Is it because it is directed by core Joomla? Please advise a fix?

Hi, Jhon.

It works as gold :)

But Advanced search uses different view file:

ROOT/components/com_community/views/search/view.html.php in line 55 and 56.
