Is there a way that this feature can be disabled. Clearly, enough people have had problems with it so it is somehow broken and therefore useless. If it works in some environments but not in others it is a bug...
I have multiple profiles types configured. I can't edit and save any of the profile configs without throwing errors related to saving the watermarks. Of course this is permissions related but I don't see any issues with my permissions and any workaround that suggests a chmod 777 to any of these image folders is not an option
When making changes to a profile type:
- No image is selected for uploading as a watermark
- No image is displayed as current watermark
- No location is selected for the watermark
- No watermarked image is displayed in the preview
In light of each point made above, why does JomSocial still save a "Non" watermarked avatar and thumbnail to /images/watermarks/?
With the non-watermarked avatars in "/images/watermarks/", they become the default avatars for this profile type. Now, every time a new member registers, selects one of these profile types, and doesn't upload a personal avatar, they will default to the non-watermarked avatar.
I want the option for all members to use the default "user-Female" and "user-Male" in "/com_community/assets/". With the current state of JomSocial, I can only do this by disabling the watermark feature in Profiles.
Without a way to disable, every time I need to make a change to one of my profile types, after saving, I need to delete the created files from "/images/watermarks" and purge the watermark related columns from the database. Only then does it work the way it should...
What are my options?
