I want to add a top menu and bottom menu on the homepage like the pictures below.

How can add?

I need to create a top in your joomla menu manager and add new menu item in there.

Can you help to add or advise where I can find joomla menu manager?

Thanks.

Hi, Linda.

It's a Joomla! configuration/user issue rather than JomSocial :)

I enabled on your installation a module positions preview. Got to Extensions -> Template Manager and click Templates in left menu. Then look on the list for Protostar and click Preview. You'll be redirected to:

worldprofessionals.org/index.php?tp=1&template=protostar

And here you can see all modules positions. Now just create menu in Menus. Then create a menu module in Extensions -> Module Manager and assign it to position-1.

If you'll need more help with Joomla! configuration, menu creation or assigning modules to positions please visit forum.joomla.org/ .

Here we'll be happy to solve any JomSocial related issues.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hello Linda

The Joomla Menu Manager is really in the Joomla backend. You can add the menus to your Joomla site wherever your Joomla template supports it.
However, to do this, you do not need JomSocial at all.

here are some useful links:
docs.joomla.org/Adding_a_new_menu
docs.joomla.org/Changing_the_order_of_items_in_a_menu
docs.joomla.org/Moving_a_menu_to_a_different_position

Hope that helps you out

I tried according to the following but I found a few problem.

1. I clicked only add the menu to the homepage but it shows to all the pages.
2. The menu also looks not correct and only two lines.
3. After I added the topmenu and the problem shows when members logout.

Please test it.

I just recovered my system and the menu I added has been removed and the website is back to work when logout.

Can you try to add that menu and see if you will get the same problem?

Hello Linda

Your toolbar works just fine, the only thing you need to do is to add items to it.
Please read this document to understand toolbar better

I have added the menu items and it is all under "Main Menu" and if I want to change the "Main Menu" to the Top menu should I just change the "Position: position-7" to "Position: position-1"?

If I want to add a page such as "About us" and "Contact us" how can I add the menu item and then how can I edit the page content?

Thanks.

Hello Linda

these are all basic things of Joomla.
You can add the menus using menu manager, then you publish them with module. In what position? That depends on your template.
When it comes to editing content, you do that in Joomla content manager.

These all tasks however, are no JomSocial related at all.
JomSocial is just a component for Joomla, and all the tasks you asked us to explain can be done with or without JomSocial installed on your site. In other words, you are asking us to support you using Joomla which is beyond our support scope.
For all these tasks, you should ask on Joomla Forums at www.joomla.org

Thanks
