I replaced these files and cleared the cache
components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/dist/bundle.js
components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/dist/bundle.min.js
components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/dist/bundle.min.js.map
components/com_community/assets/source/js/chat/messages.js
And now the second message (the reply) still contains the invalid thumbnail
So what's the next plan of action?
Plus none of our members can message/chat.... only the 2 superadmins can get the messaging system to work!
All our members see when going in to chat is the loading GIF, whether on desktop or Mobile.
For whatever reason as a superadmin I can get it working on desktop, but I can't on a mobile.
I can get it to work using chrome, but not using Safari.
Please help as our members are leaving our website!

Kindly edit your first post and add the FTP details for staff, I will make a test and apply the changes. This issue is fixed in the Beta version we released. We are going to release a stable version soon for this as well.

I applied the fix on site but unable to test it, because your site does not have enough permission for Jomsocial user to send a message to a user.
please check and allow access for us too, we can test it if still, you have this issue.
