Hi guys,

i want a membership site.
What i would like is that after somebody buys a subscription (membership pro from joomdonation) somebody can view the first lessons of any course.
I have 2 usergroups.
After registration you get Trial usergroup.
After buying subscription you get Pro usergroup.

So i want people after registering to have the possibility to see the first lessons is decide.
But after buying a membership all.
Now i can see all or none whatever i do.

Is there somebody who i can chat with to fix this?

Hi
If you are using a membership extension for example membership pro
and want the redirection of the user to the lesson/plans they bought this option would be from the same extension.
In Jomsoical we have limited ACL to show.hide the personal details only and redirect of login can be handled by System - Jomsocial Redirect plugin.
You can create two different plans in membership extension to get this.
Here is documentation of membership pro: membershipprodoc.joomservices.com

Hi Pakaj,

Thanks for your help!
How to create 2 plans i understand luckily :-)
Each plan that i create can add users to a certain usergroup.
How can i show people some intro lessons of the course but they have to buy a pro subscription to see the first course?
I have ACL options per lesson but they do nothing as far as i can see, or i do not understand your ACL.

I see i have 3 options per lesson.
1. Guest (anyone)
2. Student (of a that lesson)
3. Member (of a certain group, but on the lessens i cant choose witch one)
I do can choose them on the full course for what group it is free.
4. i would say add a custom ACL options and i can choose the user group in the settings of Guru

This is what i need:
The course is free for pro subscribers (i can click on take course)
The course intro lessons are free for Trial subscribers (i cant take course but i cant watch the first lessons)
The course is not visible for public

So how do i setup that in Guru?
I tried this lessons is free for member with usergroup 'Pro'
Than per lessen i have said this is visible guests (i rather say member with usergroup Trial)
But if i choose guests a user cant see the first lesson after login.
I i choose member i cant choose what member.
So i am stuck here :-)

Thanks for the Membership pro information but i think i understand that part.
I do not use Jomsocial and do not know what the redirect plugin is an advantage of just the usergroups.

Hi
for the Guru subscription its same visibility for all registered users.
I am not sure about your usage of Membership pro extension as its 3rd party extension that used for the creating different subscription plan.
My suggestion for this is, you have to follow the membership pro extension documentation for its usage on Jomsocial to create a plan, as ts not our extension i am unable to give you exact suggestion on this.
I also suggest you to create a new topic for each different subject, just like, if you have question-related to guru extension make it separate so there will be no confusion :)

Thank you for your reply!

Well you do not need to know the subscription tool.
Its just core joomla what i want to know.
Is it possible to do this with different joomla user groups or not?
So a certain usergroup can see only the first few and an other usergroup can take the course.

I now can set a lesson to see a certain usergroup (trial), i do this with let say the first lesson.
The full course is free for an other usergroup (pro).
I am not even working with the Subscription tool because i first need to know if this is possible or not.

This is the course (default demo):
www.dropbox.com/s/nga9jt6unvqb6n5/Screen...%2020.59.03.png?dl=0

Course is free for Pro:

The lessen group (getting started) is access for members:

The Lessen self is visible for any joomla member:

So why do i see this when i am logged in as joomla user (not Pro usergroup ofcourse):

I hope this is more clear :-)

Hi Joris,
No, is not possible to use Guru in such a way. The access is at course level and not lesson level, this mean that if you have access to a course you will have access to all lessons does't matter what.
There are some access levels but they are not as Joomla ACL, this is something we need to implement in the future. Even the lessons are restricted to a group, an user can see the courses in the front end, can see the list of lessons but he must Buy or Enroll in order to get them; but they are not hidden.

Hi Alin,

Thanks for your reply :-)
The funny thing is that i can manage what i want with the Guest option in the Lesson.
So i can show the first lesson to guests, but not to registered users unless they are Pro.
If i set a lesson on Guest i can see the first lesson :-)

That is what i would like for members of Trial.
But not the take course button though
More a button Buy Pro!

So i would suggest remove the possibility to set access per lessen or make it work :-)
My advise is make it work.

Thanks and i really really hope this function will work in a short time because now i need to make all courses double.
A category Trial and Pro and show different categories for different joomla users.

Thanks for your help guys!
