Hi
In Group if you are uploading photos via wall stream you can post photos and add the description text.
If you are creating album there is option for description here:

If i am missing your issue, kindly share a screenshot of your request with me so i can check it better for you.

In another ticket I have explained the structure of one public group and albums in that group.
The only thing I have done that could solve this is to use css and override the hard coded display:none that is there.
The code that determines to show the display none or not, needs to be put in an if or switch to determine if the user is super, uploader, or public. if not public, then to display the add description link.
I just can't find the code that determines user from superuser. I did find some canEdit related code, but even commenting the file seemed to have no effect. The only thing I could find was that possibly it was in the bundle.js
Hi Rajive,
This topic is for the description not showing for photos, If you are hiding them via CSS it will not display, as the CSS will work for all members, style code depends on the style classes.
If you are looking for a new access level to restrict users to show/hide their items, you may take a look on this extensions:
www.jomsocial.com/addons/memberships/jom...p-and-access-control
www.jomsocial.com/addons/memberships/acc...ol-a-paid-membership
If they suit your needs. Josmocial has limited access level to restrict users to show/hide items.
For other thread topics kindly follow the same thread.

perhaps you've missed the point.
what I have is a group with albums in it.
I need to set it so that users can add descriptions to the photos they upload when they are viewing the slideshow and see one of their own images.
Uploading via streams is NOT an option as it makes the user create new albums. but they are already present in the group.
currently in the default JomSocial, only superadmins canenter descriptions for the group uploaded photos.
Hi
Kindly take backup of site and apply the below Tweak:
1. Open /components/com_community/tables/photo.php
and
2. components/com_community/controllers/photos.php
Rename the 1.php and 2.php with photo.php path would be same as given above
copy these two files and replace them with attached files
Let me know if it helps.
Regards
