Current version of JomSocial sets up user roster alphabetically by FIRST NAME.... old version used to it by LAST NAME.

No one would ever want a roster by first name... how can i change that???? Using JomSocial 4.4.3 on Joomla 3.8.3

User Dimas answered a few months ago that it was not possible... it shows he's a blocked user now, so I'm reasking the question.

I checked the history of the thread, Dimas mentioned same its not possible the alphabetical only will start from a first name (FIELD_GIVENNAME) you cant change to last name (FIELD_FAMILYNAME).
Sorry, it works for the first name only. I will ask the development team on this as well if still there is any way to do this.
But I can assure you as it works for the first name only.

That really seems crazy to me... No roster from any software EVER just relies on first letter of first name to start an alphabetical order. It's always first letter of last name. As in every telephone directory ever written. A perfect example here of brilliant engineers thinking entirely as engineers and didn't run it by any user experience expert!

Please, let me explain. In JomSocial you may display names in two ways:

- user name = Username
- real name = Name

Both fields are obligatory Joomla! fields. There are NO fields "Name" and "Last name". That's why alphabetical order uses first letter from field value "Username" or "Name". This can't be changed due to Joomla! limitations.
