Hi,
I have a similar problem as in the ticket www.jomsocial.com/forum/installation/372...-before-installation
I just did a brand new installation:
- Joomla 3.8.2
- via a quickstart installation of JA MOOD (multilingual installation without data uploaded).
- plus installed Akeeba backup and admin tools from Akeeba.
- Then, I installed the package JS 4.5, the process went through with success until going back to the admin site (then the error message).
I get the following error message when I click on JS in the components menu

I also checked if I have "usergroup" column in #__community_users table. It doesn't seem so:

yves

HI, Yves.

Thank you for contacting us.
You need to create that column manually. Just run this query:

ALTER TABLE `xxx_community_users` ADD `usergroup` TINYTEXT CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci NULL DEFAULT NULL

Remember to change xxx to your table suffix.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
