Hi,
We are evaluating several CMS platforms that include social networks. We plan to replace an existing portal with a new CMS. Joomla + JomSocial looks like a good fit for us. I have a couple of questions:
1. Our new portal will probably need some custom templates that we will develop. Will JomSocial be able to use these templates? We want to keep the look and feel between the Joomla portal and JomSocial the same.
2. We plan to use SSO to authenticate users with their Microsoft 365 credentials. Will JomSocial work with this? We dont want users to have separate accounts for JomSocial.
1. If use different platform you need create your own template for Joomla and Jomsocial, and you need hire 3rd party developer for it
2. Jomsocial is using auth code from Joomla itself, if you search from Joomla Extenstions Directory you can find SSO plugin, this is the example
extensions.joomla.org/extension/miniorange-sso-for-joomla
, you can try it.
Thanks for the reply.
Just to confirm answer 1... If we used Joomla for our new portal then Jomsocial would be able to use the Joomla templates to give a seamless experience between Joomla and Jomsocial?
Joomla is the CMS portal, which has own template. And Jomsocial is Social Networking component on Joomla, and before you install Jomsocial you need install Joomla first.
Indeed Jomsocial has own template which different with Joomla template, but basically Jomsocial will follow Joomla template as the core template.
To void the confusing, I suggest you use socialize template, you can be found it here socialize.jomsocial.com, socialize template is the Joomla template which be designed for Jomsocial.
