Hello,

We have recently noticed a huge drop in performance with our sites and we were wondering if it is a known issue? I am running Chrome 61 but it also seems to happen on Firefox and Safari

Chrome's network log shows a DomContentLoaded at 12.20 seconds and the load at 22 seconds where as our previous versions only took around 4 seconds for the DomContentLoaded and about 6-8 seconds for the load.

Looking at my profiling log (xDebug) I can see the the main index.php on load is taking 11.966 seconds and 76.7% (9.203 seconds) of this is inside of community.php. If required I can provide my profiling log via a PM.

Cheers!

HI, Nick.

Thank you for contacting us.
Please, read this topic.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Thank you for the link, Michal.

I looked at the post but it seems that we are already using the database handler for sessions, I don't think we have ever used PHP for this actually.

Hi Michal,

Unfortunately I am unable to provide those details as it is our policy to keep all servers as locked down as possible.

For the moment we have been able to force our server to cache as much information as possible. Due to this, we have seen our site speed increase a little but obviously this is only a temporary fix.

I saw in the other thread you linked that there was an issue with the database indexes. Would you please be able to provide the information regarding this fix so that we could see if this is indeed the same issue we are facing.

Thank you! :)

HI, Nick.

Indexes are fixed in JomSocial 4.5 so it shouldn't be the case here.
I understand your policy... but please, read the declaimer at our Support Policy page: www.jomsocial.com/support-policy
I'm afraid that with site credentials we can't help much...
