I finally managed to figure out how to upgrade to 4.4.4. However, now that I have, I am having the same issues other users have reported: I get an error 1054, 'c.type' in 'field list' when Chat is enabled in the Configuration. When I disable chat, it works fine.

I understand that this is a table issue, but I have no idea how to fix it without breaking my site, so I am going to need some advise / assistance from you!

I see, the solution please you drop tables #__community_chat, #___community_chat_activity, and #__community_chat_participants via phpmyadmin.. and then install again jomsocial.
