JomSocial Active Publisher Active AdAgency Expired Socialize Expired

I just wanted to ask if there was a way to allow visitors to enter our site on www.ssshag.com and see the whole site on the members side without needing to register? We would like them to be able to go into the site and do pretty much anything within the site, without registering as a member. We still want it to be possible for people to register if they like, but if they don't want to, they can still gain access.

Thanks,

David

Hi, David.

Thank you for contacting us.
Yes, you may set privacy of your community to Public: prntscr.com/gbynhs
Also set frontpage activities to "Show": prntscr.com/gbyo0z
This settings should allow guests to visit your community.
Of course, all your menu items should be Public as well.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Michal,
All of my settings are as you have suggested now, but, now does a person that is not a member get into the site? The page is comes up as it always does and you don't see the JomSocial toolbar menu's. They don't show up until a person has logged in. I don't want a visitor to have to register to see the site. I would like to eliminate that for people that just want to go in and use the site. We do still need the registration side of this site on Sshag, but only so people that want to register can register and get things we will offer only to registered members, but we want visitors to be able to access the whole site, except the articles set to "Registered".

Thanks,

David

Hi, David.

That is correct - toolbar won't show for guests as it contains user related items like notifications, friend request, logout and links to user related places like profile, configuration etc. So you can't show all pages to guests - guest has user ID = 0 but pages require value higher than 0 to display anything than error.

You may show common places like videos, groups, events or photos but not Friends or Profile.

An option could be to create demo user and allow visitors to use it, to fool around.
