I was building locally on xampp until I ran into an issue with setting up category images. It just failed with no other error and regardless if I had error reporting set to maximum or even developer. I thought if I uploaded the site to the server it would resolve this but it did not, same issue and oddly enough for some magical reason it works now on localhost. Not a clue what could have changed from the time I took the Akeeba backup and was away from it for a few hours but it just started working on its own. Unfortunately that is not the case now with the online version and if refuses to upload, or even show an image, it just spins when I try and then fails with a message saying that.
I would share with you an ftp and super user login but the only domain I have to offer is one I have not had for years. Apparently this support forum is not connected to iJoomla where I paid for Guru Pro, only that it is near impossible to find this forum. So no clue how to get you the info to the site admin?

HI, Kevin.
Thank you... but I can't login to your site backend with provided credentials.
Could you check them?
Sorry Michal, user was not enabled.
HI, Kevin.
Thank you.
Each attempt to upload image fails.
And console throws:
XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://ns1cog.com/aba/administrator/index.php?option=com_guru&controller=g…categories&mediaType=image&size=900&type=width&qqfile=1408632_29920602.jpg. Response to preflight request doesn't pass access control check: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://ns1cog.com' is therefore not allowed access. The response had HTTP status code 403.
Thanks Michal,
That lead me on the right path and it turns out the issue was in fact with the server Mod Security blocking the request.
I really need to figure out how you guys troubleshoot these like this and find these console errors. I assume you are using something like Firebug but to date I have been unable to understand where in that powerhouse tool to find these issues. Knowing that would save me time and you the aggravation and waste of time to find something I should be able to.
Needless to say I am very grateful for your assistance and leading me down the right path. Have a great summer!
Hi, Kevin.
Great to hear you've managed to solve this one :)
When inspecting site with FireBug or inspector built in Chrome or Opera, you have tab called "Console".
Click on it and it will display site errors.
Great information, I will work to learn this because it is very valuable in situations like this. Do I need to do anything to this post (mark it solved or?)?
Hi, Kevin.
No, I'll just close it ;)
