Hi, I'm new for JomSocial . . . I'm planning to setup a website for different groups and small communities (example different Churches groups or High School Alumni etc) I'm wondering if I need to setup and configure just one JomSocial installation and manage the multiple groups or deploy separate complete isolated installations in sub-domain for each community. My concern is certain group may want features or customization. I'm envisioning a setup more like Facebook style where a group account will be setup like MYWEBSITE/GROUPNAME
To devide by sub.domain is not possible, except you install another community on another site installation.
Or another solution you can create private group, and regarding the url address it will be generated automatically by jomsocial so the user will be like yoursite.com/groups/view/group-id if you wanna make group naming better you sould install3rd party SEF plugin like ACE SEF or sh404SEF
Hi Dimas,
If I move forward with the private Group method, is it possible for each private group to have their own membership payment collection method, store, events etc. So basically each Group can be able to mange their own pages and activities etc. So, the main web page will have it's own general purpose payment collection method, store etc. I'm trying to understand how JomSocial handles different communities on one site. Also, I noticed that you only have one template available. Can you recommend where I could check out Templates and Themes that either could be installed or already well integrated, including actual live sites that handle multiple communities and groups. Thanks, Alex
