Hello, few questions:
1. Do you provide a trial download (in any form you please) for localhost installation and testing? this is very important.
2. Does it integrate/support (2way binding) with Joomla's core features and data such as articles, custom items, fields, tags, categories, comments, etc.?
3. Does it integrate with CCK i-e K2?
4. Does it make use of Joomla's API endpoints? does it provide its own? can custom endpoints be created?
5. Can you propose hybrid mobile application devs that can fully integrate with the site?
6. Is there an official plugin/module for front-end social login integration? whether as part of Joomla core or this plugin?
7. Can events be assigned to groups with respective privacy levels?
8. Where can I find a list of all privacy settings available for the plugin, as in profile, stream, groups, posts, events, etc.?
9. Does it support hashtags and social usernames mentions?
10. Is there a list of available shortcodes and respective usage?
11. Does it support user front-end posting (articles/posts/etc.) with native or via Joomla's third-party extensions?
Thank you for contacting us and interesting in our product.
1. I'm sorry but we don't provide trial version, the only way to test JomSocial is our demo page at demo.jomsocial.com.
2. JomSocial is a Joomla! component so it's integrated with Joomla! So JS member is a Joomla! user and may use all other Joomla! features. Not all Joomla! features are just used in JS as they are not needed (e.g contacts) as JS has own functionalities. JS may display certain users articles (with a plugin on profile page) but use own system of tags (or rather hashtags what Joomla! lacks).
3. It depends what you mean by "integration"? Basically we don't integrate JomSocial with other extensions it's rather other way round - certain extensions developer integrate their extensions with JS. Id depends what such an integration should work e.g
extensions.joomla.org/extension/jomsocial-k2-integration
4. Please, explain what you mean by "endpoints". JS is complex component and it uses own API to affiliate events of stream activities if other extension want to process them.
5. I'm sorry but we can't do that - you'll need to look for developers on your own.
6. Such a feature is already built-in in JomSocial. You just may use 3rd party extension like JFBC to incorporate more social login services (by default we use only Facebook).
7. Yes, this can by done. If you have private group, then group event will be private by default and available for group members only.
8. There is no such a list as there are only four privacy states: public, members, friends, me. There are various privacy settings that apply to many functions but. The best way will be to just fiddle with JS backend on our demo page demo.jomsocial.com.
9. Yes, it does. Hashtags are active so after you click them list of activities containing certain tag are listed. Mentions are displayed in notifications in user panel.
10. JomSocial doesn't use shortcodes.
11.As mentioned in pt 2. JS is a Joomla! extension so beeing community member still allow you to use ALL Joomla! features. Of course you'll need create necessary menu items or access points for those features as you can't create e.g article in JomSocial. JS is just another brick in huge construction that Joomla! site may be :)
