Hello,
I am in the process of building a website that offers users the option to buy a Private web page.
Jomsocial has the functionality that I need as in video upload, photo's etc but what I don't need is the interaction between any users. (the social side)
I don't need the social element.
I was planning on buying Jomsocial and "Turning off?" any user interaction and some of the functionality as in "Events" so that users have a totally "Private" user profile that is only accessible by them.
Is this possible?
Thank you for contacting us and interesting in JomSocial.
JomSocial is an Open Source so nearly anything could be customized ;)
So the answer is yes but it will require some customizations and coding.
And a good Joomla! configuration.
Please, note that due our Support Policy

we won't be able to support you with customizations.
Nor provide complete solution, code snippets or configuration.
We could give advises that may put you on right track... but we can't help you with details.
That's why consider also to hire a professional developer with good Joomla! and JomSocial knowledge.
Here you could find few of them:

Before you purchase JomSocial, please, read carefully our Support Policy and EULA:

- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.

Hi Michal,
many thanks for the reply.
Can you tell me what the developer should keep in mind when working on the customization?
Any help would be much appreciated.
First of all he/she should avoid core hacks. Customizations should be applied in overrides. JomSocial out of the box allow to set global privacy permissions for "Only Me"

. Profile should be displayed for owner and SU only so this will require a php condition in profile layout. I believe that this should be quite easy for skilled developer.
