Would you kindly inform me as to best solution for my Social Network
I am currently using Joomla's Server for my website/ social network.
I am told, that JomSocial, can allow my Net, to carry, up to 16 000 Profiles ( Structure is similar to that of Facebook), with very own Messenger, Video Connect and Chat.
I have to think of changing server to safely transfer all ACCOUNTS/PROFILES with every little detail, and content ! Also, so every detail of My NETWORK... will remain unchanged. Basically, if I have to move CONTENT and NET, will it be done without having to install different PROGRAMME and so on.... and that will bring in TECHNICAL , NOTICEABLE DISTURBANCE !
What is Your ADVICE, SUGGESTION and OFFER......

I need to correct a bit. JomSocial doesn't offer CHAT feature out of the box. But it may be implemented with help of 3rd party extensions.
Yes, that is correct JomSocial can carry 16 000 profiles... and even more. There are only technical limitations of database or server :)
You'll need a lot of space and fast server.
If you already store all those data in a certain system - you'll need a migrator to safely move data from one db to another.
Unfortunately we don't offer support in developing migrator or migrating data from other systems.
So a good idea will be to hire a skilled php developer who could create such a migrator for your system.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
