Licenses:

1) Do utilities exist to facilitate the migration to a new site?

2) The original developer and site owner have had a falling out and the site owner doesn't have the information on how to login to your product page(s). Can this be recovered?

Thanks,
Bill Slaughter

Licenses:

Hi, Bill.

Thank you for interesting in JomSocial.

1. Hmm, this is rather complex as there is no migration tool. there are two options to do that:
- clone site, clear data and unused extension
- copy db entries and file system

First one is easiest but Joomla! file system may be contaminated by old files. Second one allow to use new clear system buy may be complicated as JS and Joomla! users need to have the same ids and there are a lot of cross references in db.

2. Developer of your site purchased license with his private account here? Then I need any contact info to find that license in our data base (email, name). Next I'll need an invoice or any other proof that he bought JomSocial for your site. And finally I need proof that site where is JomSocial belongs to you.

Please, contact me at michael [at] ijoomla.com.

It may be that license already expired and it need to be renewed... so instead of renewing license you may purchase new one.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
