I have a K12 school district that I am building a district website and 11 school websites for. They are wanting a social module and the only one that fits their needs is JomSocial. I am putting together my budget report for them and I am wondering if i will need to purchase a license for every school site or if I am going to be able to do this with a single license? All the schools will fall under the same domain as sub domains so there will not be individual domains. Can you tell me if you have anything for this and how much I would be looking at to set this up?
NOTE: I only need it for the school sites, not the district site.
Thank you for interesting in JomSocial.
Basically you may purchase one JomSocial license and install it on as many sites you like. But only ONE site will be supported. So in your case if you have 11 school websites and you purchase one license you may install JomSocial on all of them. But you'll need declare ONE supported domain/site.
So for example you have sites school1.domain.com, school2.domain.com etc you'll need to declare supported domain/site as: school1.domain.com. And if you'll have an issue with site under domain school5.domain.com - it won't be supported as your supported site will be: school1.domain.com.
If you want to cover ALL your domains with support you should consider to purchase separated licenses for all of them. Good solution will be a developer edition:
www.jomsocial.com/products/products/4-di...social-developer/215
(up to 5 supported domains)... or you may prefer to negotiate price for 11 licenses, then I'll assign Billing Department manager to your inquiry.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thanks Michal, this is what I needed to know for my bid. I will let them know and I am guessing they are only going to be needed for the middle schools and high school anyway so the developer might work perfectly for this.
