Pre-Sale questions for possibilities with Jomsocial

I need a special option for the component. I am making a site for finding friends and therefor I need a very userfriendly search. And I would like to know what is possible with Jomsocial, since I bought EasySocial, to find out, that the component can not provide what I was looking for and have to go for money back. Do not want this to happen again, so I ask before buying this time.

I need a registration, where people enter username, email once, password once and city and zip (only these two because the site is limited to one country only) and the system saves the location. Also no name necessary at registration, only username. When this user now hits a button 'radius search', there should be all users listed by their distance to the user. Without the need to enter his address again or anything. Just a little 'push the button and get a result'. It is very important to have a direct link, no advanced search with several options. This is not user friendly.

In addition I need to have the first 2 numbers of the zip code entered by each user beside his username anywhere, also in Kunena. Like 'Username (12...)'. These 2 numbers should be links for a search for all zip codes, beginning with these two numbers, sorted by distance again. Not a must but would be great if possible.

Is this possible with Jomsocial, without big knowledge of programming? I got very basic programming skills, can modify templates with .css and sometimes edit some code with copy&paste...

Hi,

at jomsocial registration steps there are 3 steps.
1st step: name, username, email, password, confirm password (this is joomla standard)
2nd step: gender, coutry, etc (customize able from jomsocial backemd)
3rd step: avatar upload

not easy to customize it (not recommended)

and jomsocial still doesn't have "radius search"

you can customize css by using custom css from site template it self. but for code its more complex, we only suggest to changing the code at jomsocial template it self. if code outside that (jomsocial core) it will disappear at upgrade process.

for small customization, jomsocial support can providing it for our customers.
