I'm still on JS 3.0.5.2, and am planning my strategy for upgrading. I recall reading at one point that uninstalling JS was necessary for such a larger version upgrade. Is this still true? Are patch files available for 3.0.5.2 to 4.X?
You may always upgrade using iJoomla Installer. It will do necessary changes in database and migration. After that I would recommend to uninstall JomSocial and all it's elements (plugins and modules) and install it again. Some plugins and modules are deprecated, some files are not used. Your data will be safe in database - just like user related files in /images but this will clear JS file system.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
