I am reading your website regarding social community software to be hosted online.
I have two queries:
1. Let’s say I want to offer an online website for social networking for a community wherein I have 4 schools from 2 different cities with me.
While registration, a student should be able to provide his city and school as input. After that in normal usage of the website he should be able to connect with students from his school only.
2. Also, the website should be able to display news/ data/ events to a member based on his school, city when he logs in into the website.
Please let me know if your social community software offers this feature?

I'm sorry but what you asking is not available in JomSocial out of the box.
Please note that it's rather specific feature and useful only on limited number of projects. In most cases users are allowed to freely communicate with others.
But JomSocial is opensource so skilled developer could customize your project so it will fit your needs.
Also regarding displaying events - they could be limited to private groups so only group members could see them and respond. But it works based on group membership - not depends what option was chosen in profile field during registration.
In short - you may use JomSocial as a base of your project that offers general features. Then customize it to fit your needs.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
