I'm very interested in JomSocial, since I'm running out of options in communicating with my users in Community Builder. Before I take the (quite big step) in leaving CB and start all over in JomSocial, I would like to have some features available for sure (if possible) in JomSocial:
- I want to work with guests and registered users... can I hide the users from the guests? You have to log in to see the other users...
-
Can I define Joomla roles in what users may see or do depending on their role?
- is it possible for registered users to invite other people via e-mail to register as well?
- If a guest (who is invited via e-mail) accepts the invitation and registers, can I (as a manager) then see the relationship between the sponsor (who sent the invitation) and the new user (who accepted the invitation ans registered)? This is a very important tool for our Online Network Management Concept where you can only join by invitation of a sponsor.
- Can I make user list reports which are available for registered users only?
These were the first (and most important) questions before making my decision to hop over to Jomsocial. From what I've seen as demo, it's very nice but some features are very important for our community.
I really hope you can take the effort in answering my questions and would like to thank you in advance for doing so.
Kind regards,
a CB 2.0 user desperately seeking for a better option
5. I'm not sure what you mean... could you tell me a bit more what you need here?
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
