I have a directory site that I'm currently building and I want to find out whether it is possible to integrate the joom social extension into my existing jooml site so that I can have a community area on the site, and not have to have seperate user info etc.

Jomsocial users the Joomla user system so if they are a joomla user then they would become a jomsocial user once the product is installed. You can try all features at demo.jomsocial.com
