I'm evaluating JomSocial to be implemented in our religious community setting. Apart from social interaction among members in different chapters or locations one "key feature" we need is for each chapter chief [group manager/admin] to be able to "mark attendance" of all registered members who attend or do not attend the activity every day. And be able to put in remarks/comment for each member present during the day. Then we should be able to do some reporting on it for the district leaders.

Can this functionality be implemented in JomSocial groups [maybe like attendance register or daily events register]? If not, is there some readily available module or plugin that will make it work for JomSocial groups.

Unfortunately this is not a feature that we can offer. It is something that would be a great feature and i am asked for it from time to time but it would be a rather large component with Jomsocial; integration. I am not aware of anything out there that does this

Thanks for your response. I have 2 questions:

1) Can the groups be customized to add a "custom module" for attendance? If yes, can we also use the JomSocial event notification system to send out emails to all present each day?

2) I believe JEvents can be customized to accomplish the attendance feature. Although may be a complex module to accomplish a simple task. Wanted some confirmation on JomSocial integration.
