I'm evaluating various options for uni-directional communication from a group administrator to all it's group members. Have the following requirement:
1) Group admin should be able to send communication (text, picture, video, announcement etc.) to all it's group members. Members can only receive communication.
2) Group members cannot reply back on the wall or publicly. If they want to communicate back to the admin, they use private message that is not visible to others.
3) Members cannot communicate with each other (not even private messages).
Does such functionality exist in JomSocial groups?
4) Also can any level of nested hierarchy be created in JomSoc? I mean 3-4 levels of nested group category. Each lvl. may have different administrators who have access to all groups at that lvl. Is this possible?
This is not possible out-of-the-box as most users want to have full access to communication with other users. But this could be done with few hacks.
1-2. If I understand well: users are group members but can only READ activity stream and not be able to replay back.
Yes, this could be done with hacking stream template so post field (and post button) will be visible only to group admin
2-3. If I understand well: users cannot send PMs to any other users but group admin only.
This is a little bit tricky as group admin is a user just like any other... but it's also group admin and this fact is noted in database. So custom SQL query need to be done to check if user is group admin AND if currently logged user is that group member. So "Send message" button will appear only in case when both requirements are meet. So yes, this could be done also.
4. Groups can't be nested within groups but only in categories... but categories could be nested and have n levels. So you could view ALL groups on one page (with pagination) or browse groups by entering to categories.

So how do I get these custom code upon purchase? Can I ask in forums or need to hire a coder?
For Group Categories -> Groups nesting. Understand that group categories can be nested. Do group categories work on ACL? Different admins having right to different group categories and can view all groups listed under respective categories?
