1. The backlink is a link at the bottom of every Jomsocial page that says "powered by Jomsocial" it must remain on the site for you to receive support for that version.
2. The standard edition has a default theme which looks like this site demo.jomsocial.com/ but in this edition you do not have access to the theme designer. The them designer lets you change the colors in Jomsoclal
3. If you purchase the pro version with the Theme designer you can then change borders backgrounds and colors in most Jomsocial items
4. We don't offer a free trial but we do have a demo site that you can try everything on at demo.jomsocial.com
