Just wondering what you mean by '6 months support' when I proceed with the $99 standard Jomsocial extension. Will it be available for 6 months only before I need to pay more or will I only receive updates for 6 months, but still keep the site after 6 months?

Jomsocial is sold as a 6 month license. During this period you can install Jomsocial on as many sites as you wish and can select which site you want to receive support for (only 1 site per license per period.)

Once the 6 months is finished you can continue to use Jomsocial forever but you cannot download the product or receive support for it unless you renew.Renewal is discounted and are currently $79 for Jomsocial standard and $99 for Jomsocial pro. Both for a 6 month period

So if I do purchase it and utilise the layout and functionality, will the layout and functionality continue for my site in Joomla after 6 months?

Yes, nothing will change on your site ever, the license expiring only stops you accessing support and future versions
