I'm looking to do a meeting social network specialized for couples and singles.
I have not been able to understand if Jomsocial was able to provide an account type couple and one for single.
The couple account shall have question like name, gender, birthday, size ... for each member + some common data like localisation... and of course for the single person account it will show only 1 set of information.
I have seen that Boonex dolphin does it but I am not sure about yours.

Jomsocial has what we call Multiple profiles. how it works is you create custom fields then add the fields to a profile type.

EG: you could create a "Singles profile" a "married profile" and it's complicated profile" when a registering user selects the singles profile they will only see the fields you have selected to show in that profile.

If I understand for couple I will create a profile call couple (2 pers.) and one for single, it will works for your information which are common to the 2 pers. in the couple.

But for unique information like the birthday I will need to have 2 fields:
Birthday (common to single profile and to couple person 1)
Birthday_2 (only show for the couple profile and related to the second persons)
If later on I search for persons (single + couple) aged 30-40, does the search will take into account the Birhday_2 ?

And what about the for example gender?
I will have 2 gender in the same profile
Gender (Gender for the 1st member of the couple and single profile)
Gender_Couple2 (Gender for the 2nd member of the couple)
You might say the first is man the second is woman, but in the case of homosexual couples I need to ask the genders as I will have 3 possibilities:
man/woman
man/man
woman/woman
And I would like to keep the possibility to search for all profile with a man or a couple (man/woman).
