I've got a neighborhood Land Owner's Association that I need to build a site for. Does this integrate with Joomla or is it a stand-alone? Can you incorporate maps with it...I think I saw somewhere, not here, maybe a third party with Geo Coding or something where areas of a map display icons. Since this is for a neighborhood, they would be fairly close together...do you think that will still work? Can I make the entire site/plugin non-public? I saw it was post-by-post. Users are concerned their personal contact info is available to the public. Also, can I create different fields, like occupation and/or business?
There are a lot neighborhood community sites created with JomSocial :) JomSocial is extension for Joomla! so they are always together AND you could use any Joomla! extension on the same site.
Yes, there is a extensions for map:
extensions.joomla.org/profile/extension/...jomsocial-member-map
Or you could use any other map extension to create maps.
Yes, whole site could be private - it's just a matter of proper settings. After you'll have active subscription we will guide you how to do it.
And yes, you're free to create any fields for profile.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thank you so much.
Another quick question. If I was using a map extension and I have multiple users with the same address, how does that work- from an interactive standpoint? Can I create groups which are families...I'm not even sure that would be necessary...
Thanks again, I'm getting buy-in from my client before I purchase.
